... that makes him pretty outstanding.
And Washington State is a miserable, horrible football school. Annually horrible outside of 1 fluke Ryan Leaf season.
And then the Pirate made them nationally relevant, exciting and he won big there.
Texas Tech hasn't even been close to relevant since Leach left, and they had Baker Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes.

What would he do at a Blue Blood program? I don't know. They'd win. That's for sure. If you can go 11-1 with Tech and Wazzu, you'll go 11-1 with a Blue Blood.
Would he sustain it year after year? I don't know.
But I almost give him more credit for doing what he did at Texas Tech and Washington State then I would, say, Kirby Smart at Georgia who hasn't proven he can build anything on his own.
