late 1970's. The only thing worse than weak policy is promising consequences for actions and then failing to follow through when provoked. I don't blame Iran for doubting our resolve. They were shown to do so. In this case, Trump showed them we will not make idle threats. If Iran decides to escalate, they do so knowing full well what the consequences will be.
