and what COULD happen.....to me, both sides (Team Trump/Team Nancy) are gambling and spinning and trying to create narrative. The people most nervous about everything should be the mainstream Republicans.

With delay, you have time to convince some of them to jump ship, or, as we've seen with Trump, he gets antsy and does something silly which turns people off. You may be right that they don't have enough evidence, but none of that evidence is even going to be considered if you send it over right away. It'll be a party line vote with the R's saying it was a scam from the beginning and the D's saying it was a rigged jury. Delay helps Nancy from that perspective.

The R's want to be able to hold the vote and let the stench clear the room before midterms. They want Trump to avoid doing anything stupid in the meantime until they can get it behind them, but they can't control him and need him in their own elections. That's got to be an uncomfortable spot.
