And a skilled negotiator could have signed the 1-year App State coach for less than $3 mil/year.

The biggest mistake Sterk made was firing Odom without a replacement lined up. That cost him the leverage of being able to walk away from the negotiating table.

If Sterk had his way, we would have ended up with Blake Anderson or a service academy coach. Thankfully the BoC intervened. As I said before, I would rather overpay for an upgrade than end up with another loser.
