A firewall portion of the gui, that would be where you could disable it. Not knowing your home setup I'm probably doing more harm than good trying to troubleshoot blindly.

Just make sure you dont have an ip conflict with another device on your network. You shouldn't if you're getting a dhcp address but maybe someone set an IP statically.

Personally, I doubt it's the firmware, you are getting a response from the router when you're asking for an IP so the device is at least halfway working. Just my two cents.
