He does deserve the credit of showing we could have some relevancy in the college football world and made people interested again. He was on the right track at first.

Unfortunately - according to Mr. Kelly - Larry was actually quite discouraged his first few years here and the recruiting efforts stopped right before our 97 resurgence season came ironically.

By the time his first group of recruits graduated, we were back to Bob Stull bad.

Went 3-15 in his last 18 Big 12 games. Lost 11 straight to the Big 12. We were losing to Kansas and Iowa State by double digits.

Larry showed you could have a winning season at Mizzou.

Gary showed you could have a winning program at Mizzou... and that you could reach #1 in the nation and you could win Divisions and play for Conference Titles.
