When a black cop (female) gets involved in a drug investigation to the point of being busted at her drug dealing boyfriend's apartment, that is an example of lower standards. The establishment is so eager for a diverse workforce they are willing to overlook an complete and thorough background investigation.
Or when a Somali-immigrant cop is hired primarily for the fact he's Somali in a community with a large Somali population and he shoots a woman walking up to the car at night, someone may missed something in his psychological eval or academy training.
Or when I and another officer are rolling around on the floor with a guy on PCP who has sh*t himself and p*ssed himself and we can't get his hands cuffed due to his superhuman strength and I look up to see a female officer standing there with her hands on her hips taking it all in, she might have been hired for the wrong reasons. (Since she resigned shortly after that, I'd say she had an epiphany).
