advocates the separation of children from their parents. At worst, children are dying in American custody. At best, they are being stymied developmentally. Neither are acceptable, especially when its been admitted that this policy was crafted to deter immigration and asylum-seeking. Truly despicable.
These are people who are seeking asylum. They havent broken any laws. If you want to claim that asylum is broken, youd have a point. But caging children is still wrong and should be immediately stopped.
And to your point on the crisis, there was no crisis BEFORE Trump intervened and started this nonsense. The only crisis that could have remotely existed was the asylum court system, which again, could be fairly argued. But now that Trump has separated families seeking asylum and children are getting lost in the system, we do in fact have a humanitarian crisis at the border.
