Chicago is significant- just finished summer welcome this

Weekend.
We live in Wisconsin and my son will be going to Mizzou. We completed Summer Welcome this weekend. Kids from Missouri dominated the 250-350 kids in attendance. Chicago/Illinois was 2nd. My sons future roommate is a Chicago kid.
I travel a lot/internationally for work. Always fly through ORD. Mizzou was plastered all over ORD for about a year. They have dialed it back but it was a good marketing campaign...clearly made a difference.
My son and I toured 4 colleges last summer. Mizzou, U of Iowa, U of MN, and U of WI. 40% of Iowa students are from Chicagoland. The state of Iowa has passed a law that if you come for school and are out of state...you can basically never get instate tuition. They have a gravy train of $$$$ from Chicago and they don’t want that revenue to stop! Hopefully Mizzou can steal some of those $$$.
