We played baseball this last weekend at Mizzou and got to drive by the new stadium additions. Wow that scoreboard is huge so big you don't even need a seat inside. You can sit across the street and watch the game. Very nice.
With that being said I have a couple suggestions because although that new addition is nice there are a lot of issues at that stadium.
What do you think they need to do?
I would do the following:
1) Concourses are hideous! Most of the places you would buy food look like a high school team is running them. The equipment is terrible, they're not very professional and furthermore they never have anything for long. I think they should spice up the concourses and gut the food stands and build new modern ones. They need to create an infrastructure so they're storing the food and cooking it all there, not being brought in on some golf cart.
2) Retail store is a joke... when you look at that side of the field there must be 200 or more feet or room between that retail store and field plenty of room to tear down the retail store and expand it OUT ... They need a bigger and nicer store one that isn't like a strip. No one can shop in there you can hardly move. In fact as part of that project I think you could create more food options built into a new retail building.
Building the retail store bigger I'd say three times the current size isn't going to impede anyone walk around that side of the stadium.
While on the subject it would be nice if they invested more into the baseball stadium by ripping out bleachers and making everything real seats. Maybe then baseball could be a money generating sport. I think they talked about seating in the outfield. Having bleachers makes the stadium seem like a high school field.
Maybe its time to put an effort into baseball to create more enthusiasm. The ideal situation would be to tear down that stadium and move the stadium somehow on campus. If that isn't an option just swap out the bleachers for all seats, add a student section in the outfield.
Baseball does generate a profit for several SEC programs we can get there with a push.
