According to ESPN our basketball team now has 3 4-star basketball players and one being a top 100 recruit.
All three guys had offers from other major schools... even though rivals have two of these guys at three stars I think especially in Brown's case he had some major league offers from big league basketball programs.
Here is the good news in my opinion... none of these three will be jumping to the NBA any time soon. When you look at teams like Virginia, who had pretty much a JR led team, they developed over 3 years, got some luck and won the whole thing.
Kentucky's model is to take the 4 or 5 best NBA bound players and roll the dice... they're good but they just can't win with that model. The teams we're seeing win are with the 4 star guys who develop over 2 or 3 seasons.
Now if KM can keep it up and keep landing a top 100 guy, couple 4 star guys, they could pop up two years from now with a vet team, knows how to play together and win on the highest level.
I like this model a lot better than chasing down the Porters of the World, the one and done isn't working for the teams winning the whole thing.
Great recruiting class which I think mixed with our vets should push us into the tournament, and two years from now with a little luck who knows.
