That's a general statement but applies to 90%+ of even the top high school lineman. If they had good-to-great feet they'd be on the D-line. If they have great feet and are big enough to play on the o-line then they're Top 150 type players and prospects.

Anyway, to answer your question: in any one-on-one contest, the slower man has to give ground to try to protect a target. The o-lineman is always the slower man.

IMO many high school D-linemen who think they're elite should switch over to O-line and go make bank. There's less competition and you don't have to be the physical freak to stand out.

But D-line is the glamour position and you don't see a lot of posing and posturin on the oline so it's not attractive to the look-at-me generation.
