Love, Fletcher, and Christopher. It sends a message that we are not some fall back option if Duke or Kentucky doesn't offer. If they want to come to Mizzou they may have to make a pledge sooner rather than later otherwise we might take another highly rated target at their position.
I also think the staff has a story to tell potential Top 50 kids in 2020 that they haven't been able to tell yet. That is they will have the opportunity to come in and play on a team that should be good and experienced already. Opportunity to win a championship right out of the gate.
I do believe the staff thinks there is a good chance Tilmon leaves after this year hence the push for post players all of a sudden. I didn't know Tilmon has a child. That's a lot of pressure to make money and provide. With the G League expanding there are more opportunities to get paid a good salary even if you are not in the NBA.
On the note of players leaving early I also think next year is a make or break year for Pinson. There were rumors he was strongly considering a transfer at the end of last year. If he isn't able to add weight and defend his position it will be harder for him to find minutes for Cuonzo. Thus the reason we are offering more (and bigger) PG's.
