I'm not sure that the Spaniards exposing indigenous populations to the flu was such a good idea. Surely not their intent, but it was a by-product of both commerce and religious goals.

If religions were simply "educating" and "informing" and allowing folks to make a choice, that would be one thing. Certainly, Islamic militants take that to the extreme. However, it ignores the evidence that there are some, and possibly most, Muslims that practice their religion peacefully every day. It seems to me that you are not a fan of the "extremist" and I would agree with that - whether it's the extreme Muslim or otherwise.
