Come on. They are not the same. I was going to include Buddhism and Jainism too but neither have component of Reincarnation in their traditions. Karma originated with the Hindus and is most closed associated with that tradition. When Westerners make comments on Karma they are mostly ill-informed.

Karma is MOST closely associated in the western traditions with the idea that one reap what one sows. But THAT idea falls far from karma in that it reflects actions and conditions in a single line, not multiple incarnations as in karmic principle of the Hindus.
