wrestling and the NCAA tournament scoring is matchups with opponents and seeding can play a huge factor in the final scores.
You can be a wrestler who loses 1st or 2nd round, fight all the way through the backside scoring bonus points along the way and score way more points than the guy who wins 1st and 2nd round, then loses, gets cross bracketed and meets up with another person who was upset and be out of the tournament.
So there are a lot of factors that go into it. Penn State is the exception where they win simply because they have multiple guys I believe 5 last year of the 10 weight classes winning the whole thing and scoring bonus points the whole time doing it.
Where Mizzou struggles a lot of times is being satisfied with just winning matches with decisions rather than majors, techs, and falls.
