Comedians making jokes and then having to apologize afterwards, Imo, generally is ridiculous. Not to mention getting worked up by jokes made in a person's past. I'm not sure if it's possible to cross a line if you're a comedian telling a joke.
That being said I believe Kevin Hart voluntarily stepped down from hosting the Oscars. Am I wrong on that? Did he get booted?
Regardless Hart is not going to be tasked with legislating so I'm not sure what this has to do with your OP.
