that case and the conclusion from anybody with a brain was that, just as stated above, the brother killed her and the parents covered it up as best they could. it's pretty obvious. the ransom note is a complete joke. did a lot of statement analysis work on that note and pretty much everything pointed to it being made up by the parents. 3 pages long. written on paper from the house. you don't break in, kill someone, and stick around to write a 3-page ransom note when you've actually left the body in the basement. it's ludicrous.
