I think we should have a secure border. But, effective measures to secure it are more fiscally responsible than building wall along hundreds of miles of unoccupied border.
As to a crisis, it depends how you define it. Most illegal immigration is through overstayed visas. Most drugs are smuggled in through legal points of entry. Almost anyone with a "terrorist" tag, comes in through an airport.
I don't believe the stats the Trump admin trots out to attempt to prove there is a crisis. He's lied too many times to have any credibility.
