... Odom took over a goldmine compared to Pinkel.
Isolating Mizzou's program down to October and November of 2015 is cheap... they won 27 of 33 games before October and November of 2015. They were top five in the entire nation in wins since 2007... They won five division titles in 8 years...but yeah... let's isolate and label Mizzou's progam to Oct and Nov of one season that had a true freshman playing quarterback, with the entire receiving corps being replaced and the senior running back injured, while playing in the best conference in the nation.
Odom is one of the luckiest coaches in football.
Most coaches take over a program because their predecessor sucked and left it in worse shape. That is 95% of the time.
Pinkel took over a dead patient, brought him to life, made him one the nation's best and then walked away handing that off to one of his assistants.
And left the next coach with an NFL QB.
Odom's numbers against teams with a pulse are rather inexcusable.
They would only be excusable for a program that went 3-8 every year for two decades
