it's important that people in lightly populated states have some electoral leverage over the masses is places like NY and CA. The way of life is different and the expectations placed on government are different. If anything, I'd weight it more in favor of the lightly populated states. National politicians need to articulate ideas that address the diverse needs of our country and not just come up with cookie cutter ideas for the coasts.
