Most educated Japanese badmouthed Tojo and the war cabinet for starting the war in the Pacific They created the havoc

They thought attacks of Philippines and Pearl Harbor were outright aggression. While not pleased about Hiroshima and Nagasaki they felt it was unfortunately inevitable. Frankly it is not a huge deal there, I was there on an Aug 6 and when I brought it up the wife of a business partner who was a young girl in Kyoto during the war and said the emperor should have been hung for starting the Pacific War
