That SOS is so misleading, here's why...

which non-con schedule is easier:
A) two Mtn West schools + two lower-tier B1G schools
B) the worst three teams from the Sun Belt + Clemson
Surely A is MUCH easier for a competitive-but-not-eilte P5 school, we have a legit chance to go 4-0 with A but are almost certain to go 3-1 with B. A computer may end up claiming A was the tougher schedule, but A is much easier to go undefeated in non-con than B is. The quality difference between the non-elite schools on the schedule is largely irrelevant, you get points with the computer for playing LA Monroe instead of Central Michigan, but you shouldn't be losing to either team if you want to be competing for division titles. The only thing that matters is the # of elites you played.
