but I believe he was told he could solidify his 1st round chances by showing up in better shape next season, especially in a weaker draft. While he had mid to late 1st round potential last year, there was a chance he could slide to the 2nd round.

Hindsight is 20/20, but this is the reason Calipari tells his kids to go. You don't know if you're gonna suffer a sudden injury or medical condition. Pretty sure Jontay's gonna take the safe route and focus on getting healthy and prepared for next year's combine now.

Did we not learn from MPJ last year? An injury does not mean - Mizzmi27 MU - 10/22 08:03:37
Very different in terms of expecations and injury seriousnes - Hoosier Daddy1 IU - 10/22 08:33:05
I would assume his stock would fall quite a bit. There - TheWildcat STL - 10/22 08:08:02
Yup, and more of an example to Jontay for why he should - Domino MU - 10/22 08:06:12
He had feedback suggesting mid to late first round, right? - tjwheeler UI - 10/22 08:30:29

They are completely different scenarios though. - tgr MU - 10/22 08:05:57
And with the injury he may decide it doesn't matter if he's - Mizzmi27 MU - 10/22 08:12:01
We'll see. I think his draft stock will be severely - tgr MU - 10/22 08:03:56

               ACL injury isn't that big of a deal - Domino MU - 10/22 08:05:20
                    ACL and MCL. I think that's a pretty substantial injury - tgr MU - 10/22 08:07:39
Not really, the MCL often is injured with an ACL injury - Domino MU - 10/22 08:08:15
This is true. A lot of people get the MCL with the ACL. but - alwaysright MU - 10/22 21:47:57
