Yes, Bowers injury/redshirt made us better in '13, but '12 was the year with the higher ceiling. Overall, we would have been better off for him to go ahead and play in '12.

Now, next year is the higher ceiling year and overall, we'd be better off for him to redshirt and play next year than this year...if he were going to come back. But that is a longshot.
