I don't care about hiring a proven top name coach(possible retread) I just want to hire a good coach who is driven and is a leader and willing to do what it takes to win. There are plenty of G5 coaches who meet that criteria and plenty of P5 assistants who could do that as well.
The issue with Odom is self inflicted wounds he continues to administer to the program. Mistakes that should of never happened with the back ground and mentors he has been exposed to.
Odom is in year 3 and the program has had minimal progress. The same issues of lack of team focus, discipline and execution still plague this squad on both sides of the ball. The level of accountability and ownership of the program is dismal.
Odom won't be fired Mid season which is fine but anything less than 8-9 wins and he should be sent packing(he won't I know)
Losing to Bama is no sin but playing undisciplined and without pose' is discouraging and Losing to teams like SC on a regular bases because the staff is out coached in all area's is inexcusable at every level.
Any decent coach should on most occasions beat the teams they should and upset a few they shouldn't. We have not done any of that in 3 years...in fact just the opposite we are embarrassed by good teams and lose to teams we should beat.
