Roy Williams told NCAA investigators he didn't realize that boosters couldn't send players checks through the mail, because he was pretty sure he checked with compliance (and nobody in compliance backed that up). Nothing happened.
Bill Self was quoted in a newspaper saying he knew was committing a recruiting violation during a no contact period but was doing to do it anyway, while his program was on major probation. Nothing happened.
Their compliance department was quoted telling investigators during an NCAA investigation 'Compliance doesn't sell tickets'. Nothing happened.
It was proven by an outside entity that Darrell Arthur used fraudulent documentation to become eligible and on an annual basis attested to the validity of his high school transcripts making him an ineligible player in the 2008 national championship game. Nothing happened.
The FBI uncovered a textbook case of Lack of Institutional control in their investigation of ku's ticket scandal while ku was already on major NCAA probation. Nothing happened.
There has been like 8 players under Self now who have been documented to have been paid or recieved vast amounts of improper benefits. Over half their roster each year has their parents relocate to Lawrence and find 'employment' and travel around the country to watch games. On multiple instances their players have been involved in automobile accidents that were not their vehicle. Every year they report an 1.000 APR. Etc, etc. Nothing happens.
But MU self inflicts a major probation on themselves and vacates a seasons of wins and restricts scholarships because it is uncovered that some of their student athletes already committed to the program participated in a compliance approved internship at which the players were compensated the same amount as all other participants but the curriculum of the internship was questionable.
That is college basketball in a nutshell.
