Partially him. And it was time to fire his ace. There’s a lot of things the team is doing different now under Shildt. Again, they weren’t even having a team meeting to talk about hitting approach against opposing pitchers. It’s as simple as starting the runners on a full count with 2 outs which was not happening under MM. Its throwing Holland out earlier in the season when he clearly wasn’t ready. It’s giving bullpen arms a rest instead of wearing them out. It’s going with who’s hot, instead of just rearranging the lineup for God knows what reason.
