So I'm not confusing anything because that is what I am assessing.

Saying someone wouldn't be a complete disaster if given court time in various roles does not equate to them having SEC caliber ability. Puryear does fall on the low end of the spectrum of having SEC caliber ability. None of the other players you are listing do.
