The manager's job is to put the right people in the right positions, on the field and in the batting order .He needs to optimize his relievers and decide when to use them . His job is to instill confidence and build team cohesion, but know who needs the carrot and who needs the stick.
They typically are out of position on the field and in the order. The relievers are a mess. They play like they are uptight and uncertain when they will be benched. They aren't forthcoming re injuries because they apparently fear either being called not tough enough or fear they will be replaced.
Martinez can't be anywhere but is more of a liability at first ( doesn't pick low throws, can't complete the DP, has no range and just doesn't field). His ineptitude affects the infielders and pitchers who get errors or longer innings because he can't help them out. He's an embarassment at first.) The only positive fielder is Wong. De Jong should play 3rd because he has limited range. Carpenter has no range at 3rd, the worse arm I've ever seen at 3rd and makes an ok 1st basemen.
Bader needs to play because his defense, speed and hustle warrant it. You can't coach that kind of fast twitch . He's an athlete and has to be played. Ozuna has been a no show basically and is obviously hurt. You don't go from gold glover to that. Pham has gone south and needs to be replaced by Bader. Pham obviously can't see as well. After being susceptible to the slider down and away, he compensated, so now they bust him up in the zone. KKKKK. Where is the coaching to guide him? Pham doesn't pick up the ball off the bat as well. HE CAN'T SEE AS WELL!
The batting order makes no sense. Ozuna is not a clean up hitter. He doesn't have players bunt vs the shift. I could go on and on.
