The SEC has commitments from 76, four and five-star players, we have none.
We currently rank 84th nationally and DEAD LAST in the SEC. In fact, SEC next to last, Vanderbilt has more than double the ranking points than we do.
If this were March or April, there wouldn't be great cause for alarm, but it's July and most teams have at least 2/3's of their 2019 classes filled. The main signing day is now in December, so the recruiting clock has been pushed forward. Make no mistake, we have dug a huge hole and will likely not even have a top 40 class.
How bad is it:
- We would be last or next to last in every P5 conference except for the PAC 12 where we would be 3rd to last.
- We wouldn't be in the top 5 in the MAC.
- We are behind an FCS school (James Madison), per 247.
- 23 mid-major teams rank ahead of us.
- 10 SEC teams have as many or more 4 & 5-star commits than we have total commits.
What are our coaches doing?
