They know what Rudy is trying to do. He creates the "fact" that doesn't really exist. Plants the seed - let's wrap this up by September and then folks attach to that idea. That's what he's trying to do.

Mueller likely said nothing and I doubt he authorized any leak. That doesn't mean that someone close to it didn't leak or it could even be that the press concocted that response. They all know how the game is played.
