There has been quite a few changes over the last few years and I think that makes a difference.

Recruits, and especially their parents, like the continuity and stability in a program. That's why coaches get some puzzling extensions. They (they being the AD's) know that to be true.

It's a long and arduous process. Just another piece of the recruiting puzzle.
