have led to a really crazy seeding for the SEC tourney. Georgia and LSU are seeded 3 and 4, and no one objectively thinks they are better teams than Mizzou, Tennessee, and TAMU. They just aren't. Miss State is laughing right now at what happened, with SC, Tennessee, and Mizzou all on the other side of the bracket. Shows also how little things make a difference. We easily beat LSU at home if Sophie is healthy, but she missed just that one game, and it cost us a top 4 seed and double bye.

I don't like this draw, would rather we had been the 5 seed, and in the Miss State side of the bracket. Or the 4 seed with a win today of course. Because we really don't need the circus atmosphere of another game with SC at this point. Would rather have seen that put off until 2019 when the poisonous atmosphere has hopefully dissipated.

Now we will have to play Florida, who will beat Ole Miss, and they gave us all we could handle on our home court earlier, I think they would love another shot at us with nothing to lose, they aren't going anywhere afterwards. And Mizzou teams have played poorly in the opening round before. Hopefully the better talent we have now will preclude that.

I like our quarters match up against Georgia, we are just a better team than them on a neutral court IMO. And yes, I think beating them would clinch a top 16 national seed, probably not a 3, but certainly a 4. Regardless of how we do against either SC or Tennessee in the semis. A win in the semis though would clinch a 3 seed I think.

Lose to Georgia in the quarters and I think we are at the mercy of the selection committee. We don't know yet how the other teams competing with us for those 3 and 4 seed lines are going to finish in their conference tournaments, but the competition is very close. That is where we match up well with our resume against certain teams, and not so well against others. Only having 2 top 25 RPI wins, if we lose to Georgia, will not be good. Our non conference SOS also will handicap us with the selection committee. Best we just beat Georgia and take it out of their hands, then go for a big win against SC or Tennessee to get to the 3 seed line.

Two other points. Don't count Tennessee into the quarters against SC just yet. They play down to inferior opponents all the time, and it would not shock me to see them take another game off and look past a pesky Auburn team in the 2nd round who plays the best pressure defense and trap game in the conference.

And SC can't be happy, having to play their next game likely against Tennessee, who has more talent than they do and just destroyed them today. And anything that makes SC unhappy, makes me ecstatic. They will be rooting for Auburn to score the upset big time; deep down I don't think they want any part of Tennessee. So it could well be UT we get a shot at in the semis, if we get that far.

Should be a great conference tournament, which you expect with 7 top 25 teams and 6 teams with great chances to get a top 16 national seed.
