Mead was not a run-and-jump guy. In fact I saw him almost muff a dunk on a running one-legged jump.
I qualified Mead's abilities with the fact that he just popped up, straight off the floor. He was 6'2"(if that) and he hit his head on the rim in a game. That's impressive.
Legend has it Michael Wilson showed up at a pickup game in Memphis where Penny Hardaway and a few NBA players were running. Someone said, "We hear you can get up.....wanna show us?"
Wilson bolted towards the goal, jumped so high that he spit down into the goal, then smugly replied, "How's that?"
