the police, calling them murderers.

Former & current members of the police and the military and their family and friends are the ones most upset at his actions and accusations.

Surely you respect their rights and the rights of others to speak out about their displeasure at his and the other players' actions in that regard, including their right to turn off the games, refuse to buy tickets, boycott sponsors and refuse to provide security for their games, right?

It seems to me that both are expressions of free speech.
