That NIT bid followed five straight trips to the dance. I remember that team being frustrating to watch, particularly on the road. Haith wasn't a very popular coach, and they played Davidson and Southern Miss rather than a more well-known school.
I think if Mizzou ends up in the NIT, attendance will be better because I feel Mizzou fans know that the program is trending upward rather than downward when Haith was here. It'd be disappointing sure, but it'd be good to at least be playing meaningful basketball in March again.
That being said, Mizzou will be in the dance unless they lose a ton of games down the stretch. The way they've looked in the first 4 conference games, I don't see that happening. Just got to learn to close out games.
