There is much validity to this opinion.

Granted, the status of making the field of 68 is greater.
However, when you have a bunch of young players as the Tigers do, it would be beneficial to allow those kids to play more and varied competition together and build a bit of a winning mindset to build on for the following season.

As it stands, either scenario is a step in the right direction.
