Turns out that higher speed internet than we have here in the US is and has been available in Northern Europe for about $7 a month for years. We have monopoly issues in this country that will NOT be addressed by the recent moves by the FCC or Trump. These moves will in fact make it worse.
One result may very well be the creation of several different internets. If Youtube cuts a deal with Verizon and you want to see Youtube but you have AT&T, well you can't get there from here. Youtube or any of any number of sites will only be available through one provider and not another. Say, AT&T has interest in banks or movies or shopping options - well then your connection to those sites are a blink of an eye while getting to ones they don't have a stake it will take - oh - 45 seconds or 2-3 minutes to load.
Sounds like a great idea, increasing AT&T's influence and reach in your life.
