I have sat in on dozens of talks from researches/principle investigators where they found data to prove something other than their hypothesis, or to prove it altogether incorrect.
But even if a biased researcher is trying to prove their hypothesis, that would be corrected for in peer-review (as their research would not be published if it were not sound).
So, in short, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
