the person he was investigating who should have never legitimately taken such a job & should have disclosed his true feelings when interviewed for it.

He was unfit for the job, which is usually a good enough reason to let someone like that go... especially if he wasn't honest when interviewed for the position... assuming Mueller was honestly looking for an unbiased helper.

If Mueller was indeed trying to run a fair investigation, and did in fact do the bare minimum in vetting those he hired, asking about possible biases and conflicts of interest... and he was lied to, why make sure to find him a soft landing, still in the bureau?

It makes Mueller and the whole team look bad... and biased.
