the reasoning behind it. Proposals included speed bumps (which I hate) to closing off one end preventing speeders cutting through to another main road on the other end.

During the early part of rush hour around 4:30pm when the elementary school lets out (K-2), there are a ton of kids walking the path that connects the elementary school to the neighborhood. It crosses the main neighborhood road.

Speeders frequently blow through that stop sign.
