as likely to make a player fearful of being benched and therefore he plays very conservatively not to make a mistake - and does almost nothing worthwhile, especially as to passing, penetrating, assists. Hell, I could go out there and not make a mistake. But what would I have accomplished?

Instead, you let the guy play and then take the film clip and point out his mistakes, as well as others. He'll learn FAR more than sitting on the damn bench.
