Given world events, and US/Russia relations, wouldn’t you expect quite a bit of dialog between an ambassador and an administration?

I don’t know for sure. Just not thinking this alone is that surprising.

At least he doesn’t claim someone showed him their junk. That seems to be all the rage in Washington.
