It is a strange feeling to be running against the traffic

Had it the first time while I was still in the academy and they had the University officers in uniform due to the Iran hostage crisis resulting in a pro-America rally outside the Union.
We were at lunch in the Union and I just happened to turn my radio on to hear a dispatch of a suicidal subject last seen on 9th Street and saying she was going to kill the first cop she saw. Went back to the table where folks were eating and gave them a heads up.
Resumed going back up the stairs to the Union archway when an officer screamed into the radio he'd located the person and she had her gun pointes right at him.
Told my gf to go back and tell the table and took off up the steps. In the archway it was literally a wall of people and I was going the wrong way.
Girl and officer ended up in a standoff outside of Ellis. Mick Deaver eventually talked her down and to go to Mid-Mo Mental Health.
