trade. In the Monte Hall problem they eliminate an incorrect door and offer you a swap. If you take the swap the odds are 2-in-3, keeping your original choice is 1-in-3.

Your original pick in both cases sets the odds. Those odds do not change simply by knowing one is eliminated.
