He has a Minnesota-friendly contract with exit fees of his base X remaining years. Fleck already makes $3.5 at Minnesota but the Big 10 is not the SEC. A lump-sum of $3 (compared to installments for the full $4 million in exit fees) to Minnesota then $1.9 to buyout Odom -- I would be Sterck can get that total number down to somewhere around $4.2 million total.

MU is looking at ticket revenue losses of at least $4 to $5 million next year if we stay with Odom.

$4.2 puts him middle of the pack in the SEC so you likely have to go to $4.5 to raise him $1 million a year from Minnesota.

He's young (37), likely brings an intact staff that's comprised of guys with Midwest and SEC backgrounds and has already turned around both Western Michigan and is turning around Minnesota as we speak.

I think is the closest thing to field-ready that MU can get.
