Why would a parent with multiple kids jump into water

to save a drowning child, risking their own death? Oh well...fvck the kid right? We can always buy a new one.

Is it a hard concept to you that a parent would value the life a child above their own? Especially one who knows if they died all of their kids would have family to help raise them?
