You suggested that socialized medicine produces better outcomes than the U.S. health care system. I question that conclusion.
I assume the basis for your conclusion are the various surveys floating around about health care outcomes in the developed world.
I suspect those surveys look at the outcome of the entire population of a nation.
I'd suggest there's a substantial number of folks in the U.S. who are not in the U.S. Health Care System. I wonder where the U.S. would rank if one looked at only the outcomes for U.S. residents who are in the U.S. health care system.
There are numerous factors that affect health care outcomes, i.e. life style choices to name one. To suggest that a difference in outcomes is due solely to the type of health care system strikes me as overreaching.
There's ample anecdotal evidence that the U.S. Health Care system is superior. I.e. the number of foreigners that come to the U.S. for health care versus the number of U.S. residents that go to other countries. The usual reason for the latter is the availability of a therapy or treatment that's not available in the U.S. due to safety concerns, i.e. stemp cell therapy in Mexico, or cost, surgery in Thailand.
Finally, there's the fact that most countries with national health care systems in Europe also have a private care system and those that can afford to do so, opt for the private care system.
