Dear ______ Families,
State and local leaders are taking a proactive approach in advance of the verdict in the murder trial of a former St. Louis police officer. (Story)
While we are not anticipating any problems during the school day, we met with our school principals, bus transportation company and local officials to review our safety procedures and communication plans. We also have been in communication with our surrounding school districts.
Our teachers have resources they can use to facilitate conversations that sometimes can be difficult. We believe it is important to provide a learning environment where our students are able to explore perspectives, ask important questions, and think critically about ideas. And above all else, we will continue to teach and model kindness, inclusion, and a respect for others. The link below provides resources for how to talk to your child about recent events.
